New Orleans Special - Chicago to New Orleans Rail Trip

The usual daily fare includes a Continental breakfast, with fresh juice, fruit, coffee cakes, bagels and coffee. A one plate luncheon is included, as is a four course dinner. The Chef always outdoes himself with the meals. He will select soup and salad, an entree that you have previously selected, and homemade dessert. Mealtimes are generally 8:00 a.m., noon, and 7:00 p.m.

The Northern Sky, and Amtrak's train #59 will take you and your guests through Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi before arriving in New Orleans, Louisiana at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.

Tour the many attractions New Orleans has to offer. Take a paddle wheel riverboat ride. Stroll down Bourbon Street. Check out the Dixieland jazz clubs, or shop the French Quarter. Whatever you choose to do, you set the schedule and the pace.

Tuesday afternoon departure from New Orleans is scheduled for 2:10 p.m. on train #58. Relax in the observation dome as we gently roll northward. Dinner will be served during our trek to Memphis where we will be arriving at approximately 10:45 p.m. After a peaceful nights sleep, you will have plenty of time to enjoy Wednesday morning's Continental breakfast before our 9:35 a.m. Chicago arrival.

Your fare includes: lease of your private rail car for seven days (Thursday through Wednesday), all rail switching and carrier fees, all food and beverages, your full time attendant and chef, on board sleeping accommodations, rail car parking fees and all of the "extras" that will make your trip one that you and your guests will never forget!

Los Angeles Special - Chicago to Los Angeles Rail Trip

This sample charter trip is from Chicago to Los Angeles and back to Chicago. Ground transportation while in Los Angeles can be arranged at your request.

YOUR ITINERARY
This custom itinerary begins with boarding the Northern Sky at 3:30 p.m. at Chicago's Union Station located at 225 S. Canal Street, Chicago on Wednesday. Departure is at 4:40 p.m. ALL ABOARD! "Hi-Ball!"

BILL OF FARE
Refreshments are served while you become familiar with the many amenities surrounding you. Watch the landscape glide by as we travel through Illinois while your Gourmet dinner is expertly served in the upper level dome.

Your chef will prepare dinner including soup and salad, and entree, followed by a homemade dessert. Dinner is served at 7:00 p.m.

The Northern Sky, and Amtrak's train #3 will take you and your guests through Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona before arriving in Los Angeles at 8:45 a.m. Friday morning.

Your private rail car will be parked at Union Passenger Terminal in LA. during our approximate three day layover. Sunday evening departure from Los Angeles is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. on train #4. We'll travel through such cities as Pasadena, Flagstaff, Albuquerque, Las Vegas, La Junta, Topeka and Kansas City before our scheduled 3:40 p.m. arrival in Chicago on Tuesday.

Your fare includes lease of your private "Gran Touring Car" for seven days (Wednesday through Tuesday), all rail switching and carrier fees, all food and beverages, your full time attendant and chef, rail car parking fees, on board sleeping accommodations and all of the "extras" that make travel by private rail car a truly unique experience!

Washington D.C. Special - Chicago to Washington D.C. 

This sample charter trip is for a business or entertainment excursion from Chicago to Washington D.C. and back to Chicago. Your customized itinerary begins with boarding the Northern Sky at Chicago's Union Station located at 225 South Canal Street, Chicago on Thursday. Departure is at 7:20 p.m.

Refreshments are served while you become familiar with the many amenities surrounding you. Watch the landscape glide by as your pre-planned Gourmet dinner is expertly served in the upper level dome.

The usual daily fare during the entire excursion includes a Continental breakfast, with fresh juice, fruit, coffee cakes, sweet breads, kringle, bagels with cream cheese and coffee. A one plate luncheon is included, as is a four course culinary delight for the evening meal. Your chef will prepare dinner choosing a salad and soup, entree, followed by a homemade dessert.

Mealtimes are generally:

  • Continental breakfast - 7:00 a.m.
  • Lunch - 12:00 noon
  • Dinner - 7:00 p.m.

The Northern Sky, and Amtrak's train #30 will take you and your guests through Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia before arriving at Union Station, Washington D.C. at 2:20 p.m. Friday. Tour the capitol, conduct business meetings or see the many other D.C. attractions before our 4:05 p.m. departure on Sunday.

Relax in the splendor of the observation dome as we gently roll westward. Your taste buds will "come to life" as the aroma of dinner being prepared drifts up into the dome.

After a peaceful nights rest, a continental breakfast will be served before our scheduled Monday arrival is at 9:20 a.m.
